
The Shape of Things is an ambitious and exciting artists’ exhibition and venue development initiative for contemporary crafts. The Shape of Things aims to encourage a contemporary crafts professional practice, audience and market that is culturally diverse and representative.
The arts and nature trail changes each time I visit, sometimes standing out on a bleak day as the clouds set in, other times glinting in the sunshine or hidden by green folliage. I'm delighted that there is a podcast that can be listened to and downloaded, so that you can hear more about the objects that you'll see along the walk.
The evaluation has been written (summary below, full evaluation available on request) and the archive is almost complete. This will be the final blog post for Inhabit.
At the close of the programme we will have engaged with over 2000 people, served countless cups of tea, hosted arTea rooms in 4 shops and a gallery/ exhibition space in another and produced more than 20 new commissions/ exhibitions/ performances. Phew!
Hybrid's Director Samina Zahir has been invited to participate in a webinar, produced by The Runnymede Trust and Arts Council England. The theme is 'arts and mixedness'. The debate takes place on Tuesday 5th July at 11.30am.
The focus will be on art and audiences and will examine how migrants relate to 'mixed identity', as well as how art can address issues of migration.
It should be an interesting debate, as there's much to say ... There will be opportunities for questions or message me directly and I can raise points that you particularly wish to make.
