Participatory Arts Development with Wolverhampton Arts & Museums Service and Walsall Creative Development Team
Hybrid developed issue based arts projects throughout Wolverhampton. Working with Walsall Creative Development Team we brokered partnerships with Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Wolverhampton Voluntary Service Council, Wolverhampton adventure playcentres and a range of voluntary/ community sector groups.
We set up an artist’s forum and training network and ensured that a legacy of the work was a working artists’ database. We also ran a series of training days attended by artists from a range of arts form disciplines within Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton Arts & Museums are continuing to review how participatory arts led work, in partnership with non-arts sectors, can be mainstreamed within their existing programme of delivery.
MLA Cultural Diversity Season
Hybrid worked with MLAWM to produce the first Cultural Diversity Season covering museums, libraries and archives in the West Midlands. The season drew together over 50 events, activities and projects running from October to December 2003.
Hybrid worked with event organisers, curators and arts development officers to produce three long-term initiatives covering diverse fields such as Vibes! A History of Urban Music, Stirring Memories an archive/ renaissance project and a rural festivals project drawing in diverse festival forms.
The company was also responsible for marketing and press which went out to a cross section of arts and community based organisations and institutions throughout the West Midlands as well as mainstream and ethnic press.
