Evaluation Comments
Dear All,
Firstly, huge thanks for your commitment and energy to the training - on 2 Fridays as well!
This was the first time that we'd run this particular course, so It would be great to have some feedback from you. Our aim was to provide you with an overview of some of the ways in which the public sector purchases art - although many of the principles we discussed also apply to private galleries - and then to learn skills and techniques which make you more comfortable selling - and talking about - your own work.
So, some questions for you (although feel free to ignore these completely and just write a few lines of feedback)!
1. What did you enjoy about the workshops?
2. How will you use the skills and knowledge you learned?
3. Did the training enable you to think differently - particularly about new ways to sell your work?
4. Can you identify 2 or 3 new 'tools', techniques or knowledge that you can use and would like to share with others?
Thank you!

Sales Training
The workshops were very relevent to the wide variety of artists attending the 2 days. The information delivered by both workshop leaders was informative and got to the 'nitty gritty' of what you need to do to in order to market yourself and sell your work. It was interesting to hear how the public sector purchases art and the processes uses for this to happen.
I enjoyed meeting the other artists and seeing the variety of work we make and are trying to sell to make a living!!
I think selling has a lot to do with confidence and this was reiterated throughout the worshops. It is good to have a really strong selling point/story for the work we are promoting and sometimes I think as artists we get so involved with making the work - we forget this. The workshops helped with confidence tools which was great and encouraging.
I am interested in selling my work through new avenues and the training helped to identify ways to do this. Some I hadn't thought about before on a deeper level. This reiterates the fact that as artists we need to be diverse in the way we sell and the places we sell to.
I particularly liked the 'ginger moment' - discussed in the second workshop. I hadn't really come across this before and it has been really helpful. It's something I use all the time now!
So thanks Hybrid for organising such informative workshops that are to the point and clear to grasp.
sales masterclass evaluation
2 days very well spent. The 2nd week was particularly useful for reminding me of great sales techniques and I also learned useful new techniques to help grow my business.
As usual Hybrid provided me with new tools and networking opportunities to help me advance as an artist and a business person, I would recommend their courses and events to anyone interested in doing the same. Thanks Samina,
Best,
Kate
Masterclass Evaluation
Hi Samina
I thoroughly enjoyed coming over and meeting like-minded creative people. The sessions were informative and I definitely learnt alot. Whilst I did find the
first session most interesting and it did give me an insight into the mind of a curator, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The sales session was great as it did get me to think differently
and I shall definitely use some of the information we discussed.
I shall miss everyone this Friday. It was a very useful experience - thank you so much for arranging it.

Hello Samina I shall miss traveling into Birmingham this Friday to hear everyone talk about their own experiance around selling their work I enjoyed the hole process, meeting ,talking, sharing ideas I feel the balance between the curators talk and the blue sky excercise was just wright I now have some idea of the process involed to make an approch be it private or public spaces/institutes. I found thinking about who buys art perticularly useful just hearing and sharing ideas for other selling possibilitys. I shall keep hybrid posted with my next step which is really the frist step . many thanks Karen Art Shy
Sales Training
I enjoyed meeting other creative individuals on the two days Sales training course. My 'Sales Skills for Artists' workbook is a great reference point to turn to. As an artist I tend to put off dealing with the ''selling'' side of my business. 'Start with the end Goal in Mind' was very helpful along with 'Managing your Head'! I plan to manage my time more effectively and make those calls to various clients that I have been putting off.
Thanks to Dr. Nima Poovaya-Smith (Alchemy), Alison Matthias (Skyblue Thinking) and Samina.

How to market and sell your work (2day course).
I am still fairly unexperienced as an artist as i am in my final year of uni, though i have sold bits and pieces and i thought this course would be ideal for me. I found it very rewarding and i felt i learned alot about the wider world of art and how galleries go about buying pieces. It was also really nice to meet others who were trying to make a living from their work, i definately feel i picked up some valuble information from them. I thought the sales skills workshop proved to be effective for all who were there as it happens the majority of artists kno very little about sales and marketing and i thought the training was delivered very effectively. All this for free, and practically on my doorstep was brilliant and i would recomend to anyone thinking of trying to make it as an artist. Many thanks to all who were involved.
