Cultural Diversity Action Planning Group, ACESW
Hybrid has been facilitating the Cultural Diversity Action Planning Group (CDAPG) since April 2005. The group was supported through an intense period of action research to produce the region’s first audit of diasporic arts and artists.
All of those on the group felt that working in this way had had long term benefits. The final report has been approved. A number of recommendations have come from the report including Hybrid’s highly innovative cultural brokerage, with smaller task groups established to take the work forwards throughout the region.
The group continues to represent an important initiative for ACESW as it seeks to develop a sustained, integral, approach to the South West’s commitment to supporting diasporic arts and artists in the region.
Refugee & Asylum Seeker Arts Agency
Hybrid has been at the forefront in developing work with refugees and asylum seekers in the West Midlands, this has included artists’ development and audience engagement.
Hybrid works in partnership with arts organisations and artists to produce projects which encourage community development and access to arts provision for RAS individuals and groups.
Hybrid has been commissioned by Arts Council England, the Baring Foundation and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation to undertake a research study on the subject of arts and refugees in the UK. The intention is that this will result in a report that records recent history and current environment, reports on the impact of the work and offers recommendations to the commissioning agents for future development.
